INELI-Balkans – a New Project Approved for Funding!

The “INELI-Balkans” Project (International Network of Emerging Library Innovators in the Balkans Region) was approved for funding by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The project starts in December 2014 and it will end in November 2017. The project Ambassador at national level is the National Library of Romania, and Progress Foundation is partner for project implementation.

INELI-Balkans will build a network of sustainable libraries that will foster its members to develop shared institutional development frameworks, to exchange knowledge and expertise, to cooperate, to work together with trainers, Government official, organizations and local communities, in order to help:

– the libraries in the network provide the communities they serve a fair access to information, cultural heritage and all types of lifelong learning services;

–  the libraries in the network to become vibrant community centers that foster creativity and connects people at local, regional and global level;

– library science to extend its profile in order to help solving critical challenges of the societies in the Balkans area.
