For 3,500 children from small rural and urban areas, part of the CODE Kids Romania program. Together, they wrote over 4 million code lines. The funds from you will help us to double these numbers in the next 3 years.
WHY FOR THE CHILDREN IN RURAL AREAS?
Because almost 50% of them fail to get a grade of 5 in mathematics at the National Assessment. But, by becoming members of CODE Kids, they are turning from internet entertainment consumers to digital content creators.
WITH WHAT RESULTS?
Studies conducted by the Progress Foundation between 2017 to 2019 show that students who completed the two years of programming from the local public library scored better on the final exam in the eighth grade than other students who were not enrolled in the CODE Kids project.
10 to 14 year olds in coding clubs contribute to the development of digital skills, necessary now, but especially in the future, and open a window to explore the IT world with all its learning opportunities.
